Hillhead Street Gallery is a new radical arts space in the Hillhead area of Glasgow. Our first show "Fuck for forest and other forms of idealism" is opening on Friday the 28th of November. The show is currently in the planning and we are looking for additional submissions. We are always interested in meeting new and interesting people and ideas, so mail us if you want to get involved! We are especially interested in engaging people who usually don’t see themselves as artists, engaging spaces that aren’t usually used as art spaces and engaging works that would usually not be considered art.
Who we are:
We are Artur van Balen and Jakub Simcik.
We want to make art into a non-elitist experience for everyone and not just for the numb upper middleclass gallery visitor. We resist art that indulges itself in theoretical masturbation. Art should be about life, not about art. We are interested in art that's subversive, entertaining and that can be enjoyed by anyone.
